Craft Archive: Rothesay Pavilion wall piece.

Printed, dyed and hand pierced anodised aluminium and veneered plywood.

An icon from another era of my personal work. An exploration of colour, pattern and material through my favourite subject medium of mid century architecture and design. I like to focus on public buildings: the cinemas; the tube stations; the libraries. These were buildings designed for everyone to use and enjoy, and they come from a simpler time when the horizon seemed much less cluttered, and the expansions of towns was still quite clean and uniform, almost utopian.

More from the archive in my guest section here.
